Good fun filming four variations of an Ashtanga Yoga Sun Salutation a few days ago. This sun salutation traditionally begins an Ashtanga Yoga practice and is repeated 5 times, holding each downward facing dog for 5 full deep breaths. It can sometimes seem daunting for a beginner to begin a yoga practice with this sun salutation, so it’s always nice to have a few options. But let the movements unfold over time- what is much more important is to stay with he full deep breathing, and aim to coordinate this steady breathing with the movements: the audio instructions help to make this clear.
I used this one minute audio excerpt (previously recorded) to record each variation in front of a green screen at home, and then used an video editing program on my computer (MacBook Pro using FCPX) to remove the green background, reposition the 4 clips on one screen, add captions, and finally resynchronise he audio track.
What else would I be doing on a Friday night 🙏🏽
